ETO/Opto within Ericsson AS was established August 2005 as a result of
Ericsson having acquired all shares in the Norwegian company AXXESSIT
ASA. ETO/Opto is the product owner of and development unit for the Edge
part of Ericsson’s optical portfolio within Business Unit Networks. We
are responsible for the development and maintenance of a couple of
highly versatile and flexible product platforms that supports PDH, SDH,
NG-SDH, Ethernet, MPLS and Circuit emulation(CES) functionality.
ETO/Opto at Ericsson AS has 60 dedicated employees and is located in
Asker near Oslo.


Job Description:

The Embedded Software group in our R&D department is responsible for
developing the software for our optical network elements. These products
provide advanced Ethernet services over SDH and/or MPLS/Ethernet.

You will join a team of highly skilled and experienced software
developers focusing on designing, implementing and testing high-quality
and robust software components for our Linux-based platform.
You will most of the time be assigned to projects, and preferably you
will also be a significant contributor in discussions related to
technology, architecture and methodology in general.

Qualification (formal education needed):

    * M.Sc. or equivalent

Requested competence:

    * Minimum 3 years experience with Linux
    * Communication protocols
    * Real-time programming in C
    * Good communication and documentation skills.
    * Your way of working is strongly team-oriented.
    * You have the ability to work independently, seek responsibility
and take initiatives.
    * You are focused on quality
    * Fluency in written and spoken English.

It is considered an asset if you have experience from one or several of
these areas:

    * Embedded software design and methodology
    * Carrier Grade Linux
    * Datacom (Ethernet) and/or Telecom (SDH)
    * Information modeling (UML)
    * Development methodology and quality
    * XML
    * Device Drivers
    * Large software development projects.
    * Project management.
