PROGRAMMER POSITION AT THE MOHN-SVERDRUP CENTER FOR GLOBAL OCEAN STUDIES 
AND OPERATIONAL OCEANOGRAPHY, BERGEN, NORWAY

The Mohn-Sverdrup center seeks one programmer for an operational ocean 
forecasting system:

The Mohn-Sverdrup Center for Global Ocean Studies and Operational 
Oceanography seeks a programmer engineer to maintain the operations of 
the TOPAZ ocean forecasting system, and to distribute forecasts 
interactively on the internet. The engineer will work in team of young 
scientists, participate to the implementation of new ideas into an 
evolving system and interact with international scientific development 
projects. The employment can start as early as 10th April 2007.

The candidate should have programming skills in scripts (Shell and Perl) 
and internet markup languages (html, xml). Experience with the following 
is optional, but welcome:

     * Oceanography
     * Numerical modelling
     * Fortran90 programming
     * The OpENDAP protocol
     * Database management (SQL)

The salary will be according to qualifications. Deadline for 
applications is 31st of March 2007.
