Med bakgrunn i eposttråden om feilinformasjon på Youtube-kanalen til NUUG på <URL: https://lists.nuug.no/lister3/hyperkitty/list/video@nuug.no/thread/56TRH22E… >, og reintroduksjonen av feilinormasjonen uten tilbakemelding til videogruppen, så ble jeg nysgjerring og sammenlignet listen over folk med tilgang til Youtubekanalen og abonnenter på video(a)nuug.no. Det er to personer med Youtubetilgang som ikke abonnerer på video(a)nuug.no: Adrian Kjær Dalhaug og Malin Bruland. Det er kanskje uheldig at folk med Youtubekanalstyring ikke mottar epost til video@nuug? CC til begge, da jeg antar de bør vurdere å bli abonnent på epostlisten til videogruppen eller fjerne Youtubekanaltilgang. -- Vennlig hilsen Petter Reinholdtsen

Usannheter på NUUGs youtube-video...

På <URL: https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=TxKa2K73JFw > står i dag følgende: "I spørsmål etter foredraget blir det påstått av en i publikum at LUKS-passord kan knekkes på timer. Det er usant. Å knekke et kort LUKS-passord på 10 tegn med rå kraft kan ta tiår. Men et lengre passord på f.eks. 20 tegn som de bruker i Sparebank 1 er i praksis umulig å knekke. Og skulle man mot formodning ha flaks, vil datalageret uansett være så gammelt at det er fysisk i ustand." Jeg var tilstede på arrangementet, og det var ingen i publikum som sa at LUKS-passord kan knekkes på timer. Det er dermed ikke riktig det som står i kommentaren på innslaget og det bør endres. Som en derimot kan se fra videoopptaket (ca. 36 minutter og 15 sekunder ut i opptaket), så ble det fra min side sagt følgende: "Og så vil jeg bare nevne at denne ideen om at LUKS går så tregt at du kan basere det på at det er en forsinkelse som gjør at det er vanskelig å knekke, det er bare tull. Det finnes fine verktøy der du kan hente ut starten av harddisken, og så kan du gi den full CPU-pup til å kjøre kverning for å se om man klarer å finne passordet, så den klarer mange, mange, mange forsøk per sekund. Likevel er AES-256 en forholdsvis munnfull å kværne igjennom, så jeg tror nok du skal holde på i noen hundre år før du klarer å knekke det, men ikke tro at det tar et sekund for hver LUKS-test. Du trenger ikke å bruke standard LUKS-verktøy, det finnes fine verktøy som gjør det her fryktelig fort." Folkene bak videostrømmingsbiblioteket liquidsoap arrangerer verksted, <URL: https://www.liquidsoap.info/liquidshop/5/ >, som kanskje kan være interessant for folk i videogruppen. "The liquidshop 5 is the fifth edition of a workshop about Liquidsoap and related technologies. The goal is to gather all people interested in Liquidsoap (of course) and welcome any contribution, related or not to Liquidsoap. We are particularly eager to get to know how people in the community do radio, media streaming and more, learning about specific tools or workflow that we could, in turn, use to enhance how liquidsoap works. We also love to meet the people involved and engaged with these technologies, community radios, non-profit but also budding startups or more established businesses, art project and installations and more! Hi, Thilina The videorigg is available both 18.03.2025 and 19.03.2025. I can see you already made reservetions for the dates in the reservation form :) There are som new guidelines for renting the video rig. 1) You need to provide an external harddrive or usb-stick for recording that can be plugged in to the video mixer with usb-c. 2) We have created a new form that need to be filled. It have two pages. Page 1 is for those who have not borrowed it before and need obligatoric training on how to use the equipement. Page 2 is for those who have been through obligatoric training. ISOC have borrowed the equipement before. Therefore you don't need to fill out page 1. Dear Team, Internet Society Norway Chapter (ISOC Norge) plans to host two meeting events at Rebel during 11th and 19th of March 2025. Both days we will be using one of the Rebel's meeting rooms from 17:00 to 20:00. For these events we require video capturing devices and I write to check the availability of NUUG's video equipment for this particular time period. Therefore, if they are available, I kindly request to allocate them for us. Also, if there are any procedure in taking over the devices from Rebel storage and handling the devices please let us know too. Jeg antar det er flere i videogruppen som kan ha nytte av opplastingsrettigheter der. Hvem ønsker slikt? Kanskje du kan fikse tilgang også for disse? Contributing to Fri programvare (2025) with Generative AI Using LLAMA and Meta Movie-Gen Models

Dear NUUG video-gruppe, [drift: Looks like video.nuug.no is now out of service? I had rawdata for the movie Fri programvare (2015) on the account ole(a)video.nuug.no, but still can't login.] Hence, I am reaching out with an idea to contribute to the restoration and enhancement of Fri programvare (2015) by creating a new version of the movie using generative AI. Given that the original visuals for the 2015 film are lost, I propose using the preserved audio recordings as a foundation to recreate the film before 2025, with updated visuals generated by AI. See https://ai.meta.com/research/movie-gen/ NUUG has demonstrated expertise in preserving and restoring film archives, and I believe this project aligns well with NUUG’s mission to make digital materials more accessible. By combining Meta’s generative AI models like LLAMA and the Movie-Gen engine with a selection of open-source models (similar to MyHeritage's Deep Nostalgia for images), we could create dynamic moving visuals from still images. This approach could make archiving classic films and documentaries more accessible to the public, preserving them in open formats such as those supported by Frikanalen. Having developed open-source software centered on internet radio and free audio mapping over the past decade, I am committed to creating accessible tools that encourage exploration and preserve cultural content. My initial experiments with tools like Autotekst from UiO have shown promising results in processing audio from American radio, which could similarly support audio-visual restoration. Below is a Python script concept that leverages a generative language model to create a basic movie script. This script shows how LLAMA could dynamically generate dialogues for different scenes, enabling us to bring Fri programvare (2025) to life through AI-generated scenes and scripts. The audio source material was archived, but the film was lost after 10 years at https://archive.org/details/20151010-friprogramvare https://ia601302.us.archive.org/3/items/20151010-friprogramvare/20151010-fr… I am attaching the audio transcription for the movie based on Dag Langmyhr's interview in the audio of Fri programvare (2015) uploaded and processed on https://autotekst.uio.no/ -- only Dag's transcript from the first 1 minute was digitally preserved. I envision combining generative AI scripts and archived URLs, like those on archive.org and Frikanalen, to enhance historical and future film content. With Meta’s Movie-Gen model and the LLAMA language model, I believe it is possible to create an open-source implementation that preserves important works while inviting new interpretations. Please let me know if NUUG would be interested in collaborating on a project to develop Fri programvare (2025) using these generative techniques.
