Switching to latitude/longitude would be beneficial for us as well.

A quick clarification OpenLayers. How does it fare against OpenStreetMap ?
Is it easier to OpenLayers or does it have additional features ?

Sounds good. We can begin focusing on replacing mapit with some generic
solution.

Shanmugam, our lead developer, will get in touch with you/team separately to
briefly discuss the plan later on. At present, he is stuck with installing
PostgreSQL on a RedHat host. Maybe, we may need to switch to a Debian host
if the issue does not get resolved by this week.

It's great to collaborate with you and the Norway team on this project :)
