[NUUG fiksgatami] Changes to support lat/long

Hi Matthew,

Hope things are going well at your end.

After a brief discussion with Petter, wanted to quickly ping you to see if
there might be any issues/concerns with adding lat/long support for the
mapping part. Ideally, we should be able to make it configurable so that
different regions can chose from a list of supported co-ordinate systems.

Please let us know what you think along with any suggestions/pointers.
