I did not solve the tileserver issue, and solved the mapit issue by
setting up a mapit service locally.  The mapit service do not have any
data, so all points in our installation are currently outside known
areas. :)

I assume the tileserver issue is best solved by replacing the map.  I
did not have any use of the map of UK in Norway, and thus know I will
not be able to show any useful map.
