Status on Noark 5 interface

Hi,

Petter and I had correspondence with the National Archive last week and
one of the things that became clear is that there is no-one currently
maintaining the interface. It's is unclear when they will start up
again, but I suspect it will be after the National Lottery profits from
last year are distributed.

It's not really a problem, as there is enough in the current version of
the standard and the online service to get the general strategy right
and as long as they don't make major changes, the work won't be wasted!

One of the issues I'm facing at at the moment is how to deal with
inheritance. The standard currently deals with it in two different ways.

The first way is how File and CaseFile deal with it. It seems to be two
requests, /ny-mappe/ and /utvid-til-saksmappe/ . The second way is how
Record and BasicRecord deal with it within unique requests. So a
BasicRecord request would include all the data of a Record as well.

I never liked the /ny-mappe/ and /utvid-til-saksmappe/ for CaseFile as
it requires a transaction in the client to make sure both happen.

We won't get an answer on this for a while so I will also allow CaseFile
to be handled like Record and BasicRecord and adjust if necessary when
the time comes.

So I think we will just continue as before and have a go at implementing
the interface. Either way, we will not be too far off and I suspect (and
hope) minimal changes when they publish an updated interface.
