Hello
You are listed as the coordinator for the GUI translation on URL:http://i18n.kde.org/. I have a few questions.
Who is responsible for making the english original consistent? While translating to Norwegian (bokmål), I notice a lot of texts which should have been combined into the same english text. This would both make the translation task easier (less text to translate), and the KDE gui easier to understand when using the same message every time.
Some examples:
msgid "1200 dpi" msgid "1200dpi"
msgid "1200x1200 DPI" msgid "1200x1200 dpi"
msgid "120x60 DPI" msgid "120x60 dpi"
msgid "120x72 DPI" msgid "120x72 dpi"
msgid "&Word wrap" msgid "&Word Wrap"
msgid "You have specificated a directory." msgid "You have specified a directory!" msgid "You have specified a directory" msgid "You have specified a directory." msgid "You have specified a directory:\n%1\n\nDo you want to save to another file or cancel?" msgid "You have specified a directory\n\n%1" msgid "You have specified an existing directory."
msgid "Read: " msgid "Read: %1" msgid "Read:"
msgid "Ready" msgid "Ready." msgid "Ready..."
msgid "Zoom &out" msgid "Zoom out" msgid "Zoom &Out" msgid "Zoom Out"
Example questios to consider: Should dots per inch use 'dpi' or 'DPI'? Should kilobytes be written 'kb', 'kB', 'Kb' or 'KB'? Should one use 'Exit' or 'Quit' to terminate a program?
Are there anyone working on these issues?
