Quoting Karianne (ubuntu@simira.net):
Colin got a translation of the installer for Hoary, just before release, after a request on the ubuntu-translators list.
Hmmm, I'm wondering whether I should subscribe to this list. Maybe yes, just to follow things and make my best to make l10n sync easy between Ubuntu and Debian.
Currently is a kind of key moment : there seems to be a rampant feeling among Debian developers that Ubuntu is Not Good and does not work enough to contribute back to Debian. We both, Ubuntu people and "Debian-only" people, have to work hard to fight this and show that both can have a good collaboration and mutual enrichment, even if the priorities are not always the same.
The discussion is about how we should coordinate Debian/Ubuntu/KDE/Gnome translations. We will now try to use the i18n-no list for both teams, and the Ubuntu translators will use our guidelines on the ubuntu.no wiki page. Skolelinux (or others interested) are welcome to use it as well. Both are encouraged to check on each others lists for translations already done or in process.
This seems to bring us yet another topic to discuss in Debconf...:-)
Dammit, when the hell will we actually sleep ? :-)
