I belive you are wrong. The abbreviated names should be of equal lenght, for posiz and ISO TR 14652 locales. And the style for the abrreviated names for POSIX and 14652 is that no period is used. The abbreviated names are ment for things like file listings (ls) logs etc, and there it is essential that the names are of equal lenght.
I am not sure I understand. The abbreviated dates will still all be of the same length if you use one space instead of two.
