Interessant. Angående det, så er det også et prosjekt på launchpad som sikter etter å få oversatt pakkebeskrivelser for Ubuntu. Er det slik at oversettinger fra DDTP blir trukket inn i Ubuntu, eller er de begge separat? -- Thor Marius K.H http://nitrolinken.net

Emne: Translation of Debian package descriptions to Norwegian Fra: Andreas Tille tillea@rki.de Til: Karl Ove Hufthammer karl@huftis.org
Hi Karl Ove,
I wonder whether you are aware that there is a Debian Description Translation Project (http://ddtp.debian.net/). It tries to translate package descriptions into several languages but Norwegian is missing for the moment. H01ger told me that I might ask you whether you in the KDE translation team might be interested to spend some time into this:
<an3as> I learned that there are no Norwegian DDTP translations available <an3as> This sucks in any way. <an3as> Surely I know that Norwegians are quite good in English ... but <h01ger> an3as, the norwegian kde translation team is very active on it <h01ger> lots of edu stuff is translated to bokmal <an3as> Yes - but not Debian Package Descriptions (at least not that I know of) <h01ger> you could ask them, maybe they dont know its possible and useful nowadays <an3as> h01ger: E-Mail address / Link where I could ask? <an3as> The immediate use would be that you would see the translations on Debian Edu tasks page. <h01ger> "Karl Ove Hufthammer karl@huftis.org" < huftis@user.skolelinux.no> nows the group contact for sure <h01ger> i dont <an3as> I found this http://cdd.alioth.debian.org/science/tasks/mathematics.html.ja quite impressive ...
The interesting thing would be that you could point Norwegian people to such kind of tasks pages like the one above (just picked the japanese by chance). The pages doe exist also for Debian Edu but for the moment I have some stupid unicode problem - so Debian Science is only one example. The Debian Med team has also developed a page which shows the translation status of the descriptions of those packages that are interesting for Debian Med:
http://debian-med.alioth.debian.org/ddtp.phpThis page could be adapted for Debian Edu and because Norwegian has some kind of importance here this language could be added ... if there would be any Norwegian translations available.
Kind regards
Andreas.
