Cinelerra¹, a non-linear video editor for Linux, has got two translations: Slovenian and German.
No matter what I set LANG or LC_ALL or LANGUAGE to, and "export" them, Cinelerra launches with English user interface.
I have verified that the translations are in place and that they work. I used a workaround: I made a symbolic link /usr/share/locale/nb_NO/LC_MESSAGES/cinelerra.mo to the file (...)de/LC_MESSAGES/cinelerra.mo
The fact that the workaround above worked suggests that Cinelerra gets Skolelinux' default LANG setting no matter what. How could it be?
My workstation had Skolelinux standalone installed (because it was an easy installer), and was then upgraded to Debian Sid.
